I use both FreeBSD and Linux, both for different goals and reasons. Even if I had a strong preference I believe the existance of both is good. Different views create discussion and ideas, and these are needed to get ahead. BTW, I've had hardware support problems with both of them, they're solved now. But these are mainly the fault of a manufacturer refusing to release their specs, and not something in either OS. I think that it's ashame that the two communities (Linux en FreeBSD) are fighting amongst themselves so often, while the *real* opposition like MS and SCO try to get us. With some mutual respect both sides can thrive. Just my 2 eurocents.
