Scott, Thanks for the tip, I'll try checking sysctl. FYI, I'm headed out on Friday so I won't be able to get back to you until Monday. I'm running it from console and nothing gets displayed or sent to /var/log/messages. Strange, I followed the directions exactly as described in the tarball. I must be missing some basic step.
