I have problems running Icon programs using graphics. They (presumably) all fail reporting "can't find display" or other messages related to this one. Of course, I run all of them from within "xterm", therefore think I have X (well) configured. I wrote about this to mr. Gregg Townsend (one of the authors for the graphics facilities in Icon), but he said there could be a problem with the environment variable DISPLAY; perhaps it doesn't exist or isn't properly set. I've checked it out: it looks like ":0.0". I've tried some other values, but nothing changed. The same applications I tried work fine on SGI Indy workstations). However, the binaries in this case were directly downloaded from Icon's main site (Arizona University). I first used the package then I've tried the port (i.e. compiling it on my machine). No results. All other Icon apps work fine. I currently run FreeBSD 3.0 (and 2.2.7, and even 2.1.7 on my home PC). So I use two versions of Icon, namely 9.0 and 9.3.1. What should I do?
