When you asked your question, you said: "using ftp to transfer file from window to freebsd" Are you using the Windows FTP client to transfer files _from_ a FreeBSD host _to_ a Windows host, or are you using the FreeBSD ftp client to transfer files _from_ a Windows host _to_ a FreeBSD host? If the former, then you should be asking Microsoft people how to do this, although my advice would be to get a real Windows FTP client like WS_FTP from http://www.winfiles.com/ .
