Thanks -- I've gone ahead and merged the patch to 7.x (r189026) so that I can look at the PR and get that in-progress. Since the code affected by the PR is no longer in 8.x, I'll merge directly to 7.x, and probably fairly quickly since you've had it in production for a while.
