Hello everyone, I recently decided to install FreeBSD4.3 on a home system, after a couple of weeks running a small FreeBSD server at work. To start, let me give you my config (This will be a FreeBSD ONLY system): FreeBSD 4.3-Release from ISO Image Tiger Tyan 100 (440BX Chipset) Dual P-III 450s 512 MB Ram ATI Rage 128 8mb Video Card Adaptec 29160 SCSI Controller Western Digital 9GB 10K RPM U2W LVD SCSI Hard Drive 3Com 3C905B Network Card Creative SoundBlaster Awe64 Sound Card 44X IDE CD-Rom (As Master on Primary IDE) Floppy disk Each time I've tried to install, everything goes flawlessly, no errors, no problems. I didn't change anything in the Kernel config, in fact, I've skipped it each time I've tried to install. The system gets done installing, and I tell it to reboot. System boots up to boot menu: F1 FreeBSD Default : F1 I then hit F1, and the system beeps. Infact, any keystroke other than ctrl-alt-delete just causes a beep in the system. I've reinstalled several times, thinking perhaps I did something wrong, but still just beeps. I've changed the keyboard as well, thinking perhaps it had gone bad, but it still beeps. I've looked through the archives for this list, and didn't notice anyone with a similar problem. I've also looked at the FreeBSD SMP Kernel page ( people.freebsd.org/~fsmp/SMP/SMP.html). From reading this, the SMP capable kernel should be already available in 4.3, but please tell me if I'm wrong. Thanks for any assistance you can lend with this problem!
