I changed the CPU and it still failed, so last night (this morning :( ) I put -current on the machine, and it has been running without any problems since. I'm really sorry I could not do more to help debug this, but the box is a production machine, and there are real issues with it not running. Thanks for the input. Hopefully some of the others in this thread who ARE having the problem will be able to help track it down.
