Hi again, Further to my earlier emails re: problems with dtmail and sgid not seeming to work on 2.2-RELEASE (but working on 2.2-ALPHA). I have just browsed through the CVS archive and found the following: In src/sys/kern/kern_exec.c >1.47.2.2 Wed Feb 19 3:53:35 1997 by davidg >CVS Tags: RELENG_2_2_0_RELEASE; Branch: RELENG_2_2 >Diffs to 1.47.2.1 ; Diffs to 1.51 > >Brought in change from rev 1.51: preserve P_SUGID if {u,g}gid != r{u,g}id >Note that this doesn't actually fix any known security holes, it just >protects against sloppy programming. Could this be causing my dtmail problem? I will patch my kernel sources when I get home tonight and try it. Will send a follow-up report. Regards/Mark
