There are some parts of the installation where large amounts of directories with small files are being copied, so the throughput can be quite poor. If you hit return there it will panic. You have to manually enter the root partition e.g. "ufs:/dev/ad0s7". If this is a different panic, would you be able to get a backtrace by typing 'trace' at the ddb prompt ? later, Peter.
