Most UNIXes use BIND as they DNS server. It's also called named. Its source can be found at http://www.isc.org/. I don't know what package it is, but I suggest that you compile it yourself. BTW, 2.2.6-RELEASE comes with an older versino of it. Look in /etc/rc.conf > my provider suggested that i install my own dns, i have never > installed this before so i want to ask what is the package i need to install > and what files do i need to configure to get it working? > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > -- Dima Dorfman (dima@zwb.net) "640k ought to be enough for anybody." - Bill Gates, 1981 Micro$oft Sucks!
