...and as much software as possible:
It breaks in VMWare2 :-(

Although I get atapci & ata[01] on booting, it fails to detect
the two virtual disks and the cdrom:

ata0-slave: timeout waiting for interrupt
ata0-slave: ATA identify failed
ata0-master: ...
ata0-master: ...
ata1-master: ...
ata1-master: ATAPI identify failed

[The VMWare is running on Linux 2.2.19]
