I actually built e-d-s with db-6.0, broke db6 by upgrading it to db-6.1 so as to reproduce the problem, and then build with the patch, which fixed the problem. If you are aiming for a more general fix that is fine, but you still need to fix the bogus library path specification in evolution-data-server's LDFLAGS.
