Firstly, I'd like to be able to do a fresh install of bind8 on a 5.2.1 box that I'm just tinkering about with, but when I try and do a 'make deinstall && make clean && make install' or anything similar it won't re-install all the default config files in /etc/namedb/ (I've tried deleting the old folder). I'm guessing the package won't write into those folders if you've had bind installed previously. Can I over-ride this? Secondly, is it possible to use bind9 on a 5.2.1 box? When I tried to install the bind9 port, it installed bind8. This is only a box that I use to tinker about with, I'm a complete FreeBSD beginner. Many thanks for your help. Daniel Briley
