This hapens with the GENERIC kernel. It has been working fine for the nearly two years with 4.3 through 4.7! I'm stunned! latest lines from the boot sequence: avail memory = 320806912 (313288K bytes) Preloaded elf kernel "kernel" at 0xc051d000. Preloaded userconfig_script "/boot/kernel.conf" at 0xc051da08. Pentium Pro MTRR support enabled md0: Malloc disk Using $PIR table, 11 entries at 0xc00fdf10 npx0: on motherboard npx0: INT 16 interface pcib0: on motherboard pci0: on pcib0 agp0: mem 0-0xfffffff at device 0.0 on pci0 after that, the machine is frozen and has to be cold reset. So I reinstalled 4.7 just to see the difference. The corresponding lines from 4.7: pcib0: on motherboard pci0: on pcib0 pcib1: at device 1.0 on pci0 pci1: on pcib1 pci1: at 0.0 ..... everything normal after that So what is this new agp driver that seems to hang everything? help greatly appreciated!
