A question then from another user with difficulties: I have an SC-402 with an Archive 2150L drive connected to it, and my problem is that I can't get the drive to stream. It does much "shoe shinning" and is it takes a long time to get anything off of it. I'm running FreeBSD 2.0.5-R on a 486/33 with 16MB of ram. If I turn off turbo mode on the machine, the forward motion of the tape gets even smaller. I've tried using all sorts of block sizes to try and get it to stream, but no luck! Are there any tunable parameters for this drive, or is my motherboard's DMA system kinda broken? Thanks! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Webster Network Manager / Special Projects Dataradio Inc. 200-5500 Royalmount Ave. TEL: +1 514 737 0020 Town of Mount Royal, QC, CANADA H4P 1H7 FAX: +1 514 737 7883 http://www.dataradio.com Email: awebster@dataradio.com
