Maybe my confusion arose from the fact that *normally* you only burn ONE iso file per disk to disk and the burncd manual speaks about ".. data file1.iso file2.iso file3.iso fixate" This is confusing 'cause the only way I can imagine this is some kind of multi-session CD which you cannot read in total (only separate sessions (iso files).
