Unfortunately, I don't see how it can be implemented in a compatible fashio= n. Tons of scripts assume ifconfig(8) has specific output format and splitting options flag into multiple lines would cause the breakage for some users. Given I don't see any reasonable way forward, I'll probably have to close i= t in a ~week timeframe.
