This was intentionally left out of the design and should never be considere=
d.
We need to ensure that not only the metadata matches exactly between the Py=
thon
side and ours, but not allowing anything to be overridden on our side. We
already have enough ports with mismatched metadata because USE_PYTHON=3Ddis=
tutils
doesn't have any such checks like USE_PYTHON=3Dpep517. Unfortunately the wi=
der
Python package ecosystem doesn't take security seriously enough to allow
flexibility on our end.
