I don't think the device is being made properly.  When I issue the command...

mixer 100:100

I get back...

Setting the mixer vol to 100:100.
mixer: WRITE_MIXER: Device not configured

I'm betting there's just some basic thing I'm missing here.  I recall 
something like this happening with my Compaq, but for the life of me I can't 
recall it.  Might be something in the mobile archives on this.  I guess I 
need to starting hitting that hard and heavy.

Just too annoying when it's apparent that the solution is so close!
