November 3 2001 Gentlemen: My first attempt to download FreeBSD. Formatted two (2) new 1.44 diskettes at the DOS command prompt with apparent success. According to DOS, the entire space of each Unconditionally formatted diskette was available. Believe have read all of the pertinent documentation. Downloaded FDImage.exe to Windows desktop first by drag and drop, then selecting and using download dialogue box. Not sure what to do with FDImage.exe so opened it from Windows Run command. It displayed a DOS window titled "Finished" with Usage information and recommended closing the window. Attempted to use its toolbar "Mark" feature to make the program do something with no success then closed the window. Then selected MFSRoot.flp and Kern.flp and downloaded each using download dialogue box Save To Floppy Disk (A: drive). Noticed A: drive light came on for a few seconds then shut down. C: drive stayed on until download almost completed. After 1.40MB, A: drive light came back on and download box stated "Disk not large enough to complete download". Repeated this proceedure for each diskette with same result. Have previously had no problems downloading to C: drive. Have not previously downloaded to A: drive. Not using third party FTP software. Using IE 5.0. How to determine whether it is in binary mode? What to do with FDImage.exe?
