I used to have a system that was a K6/233 with a 2940W SCSI
controller.  It had IDE disks and two SCSI burners... one 1x and one
4x.  I found that I could run both CDRs just fine with the same or
different images.

I now have a Dual-Athlon-1800+ with a 29160.  I have two 16x CDRWs in
it.  I can write 16x on both from local disk.  It's probably not a
challenge, really.
