Er, acpi ignores them. We found that if ACPI wants 2F8 on a given sio port, it was better ... er, only worked ;-) if we configured device.hints to match what ACPI expected. FYI, you might find "-dH" in /boot.config to be more useful that the console setting in loader.conf. It sets console=comconsole by default, but leaves you able to override it from the vid console if you are at the keyboard when it boots. Very useful. On Dec 16, 2006, at 9:34 PM, Marc G.
