I was hoping I could have a common-to-all-shells approach. I want rather the reverse: I only want to start and stop fetchmail when I start and stop my first local session. I SPOP3 my ISP's mail cluster for inbound, as I don't have an advertised mail server. I only want to automatically retrieve mail when I'm at my desk. I can retrieve mail by other means when I'm elsewhere. > Dan Nelson Dave -- ______________________ ______________________ \__________________ \ D. J.
