Hi, I am wondering if you have a FreeBSD 5.3 release SOURCE CODE that w/ or w/o tweeking of config or makefiles could compile on my old, slow NeXT Cube, running the last NeXT OS before Apple bought NeXT, i.e. OpenStep 4.2. For me it would be really cool to have (1) the working config/makefiles as examples for other projects w/ open source, and (2) to compile aok and use the latest OO productivity suite on my old NeXT. FYI in the near future I plan to install OpenStep 4.2 on one of the fastest, simplest hardware-configured Intel box I have. (OpenStep never had a big choice in drivers for Intel.) This will be to get 166MHz to 500MHz or more running old legacy code PLUS running OO and some other open source code to be determined. I also have 1+ Linux boxes, but don't want to put OO on it/them yet. I have OO on a Win2K box. So, do you have an OO 5.3 source with config & makefiles reasonably close to or exactly fitting old OpenStep 4.2 (~= Mach 1.x on BSD4.3)? If config and makefiles are not an exact "fit" for OpenStep, could you send me hints or exact instructions to modify FreeBSD config and makefile scripts? And/or maybe send some much older config/makefiles, if you have them, that did have a "NeXT" hardware / "OpenStep" OS option. Thank you, Jenni Woodward San Francisco 415-239-0599
