I have a suggestion: could we change the messages "Can't find kernel.conf" etc. to something less scary for the new user? Something like "Using default config (no /kernel.conf)". And another issue: some time ago there was very animated discussion about "/boot.banner". Is this idea being implemented by someone, or it just died off? And yet another (CAM related): does present bootblock allow to use the "da" instead of "sd"?
