Then it should be the same chip set as what is in my "Auto 16/4 Credit 
Card Adapter" or supported by the same driver anyway.

Only if you are prepared to do some serious kernel hacking. The base 
driver is not production quality. If I remember correctly, it comes with 
a warning that it might even cause social disease :-) and there is no 
support for the PC Card interface.
