	Yup, it's a pretty European thing.  My "name" is "Knowles", but 
my "forename" is "Brad".  For many Europeans, it has been my 
experience that if I tried to introduce myself as "Brad Knowles", 
they would either get horribly confused or try to call me "Mr. Brad" 
or somesuch.
