Dear Sirs,

I've bought Walnut Creek's FreeBSD 2.1.6 CD-ROM, but the install kernel,
booted from floppy and 'SYSINSTALL' don't find/probe my IDE CD-ROM DRIVE
(Creative Labs model CD820E.1v78b9108 - 8x speed). It is placed in the
secondary on board IDE controlller: INTEL PIIX PCI IDE, IRQ = 15; port =
0x170. Install kernel probed wdc1 at 0x170, IRQ =15, but when i try to
install from CD-ROM i receive 'No CD-ROM device found' (BTW, no problems
with my other O/S, Win95)

In RELNOTES.TXT it's mentioned a 'wcd' device - ATAPI IDE interface in an
Alpha(?!?!) stage in 2.1.6...

Question: It's possible find my IDE CD-ROM? In my opinion, this issue is a
reasonably feature to be present in FreeBSD since now virtually all
commercial CD-ROM launched in market it's an IDE one... So, what's the
purpose of buying an O/S within a CD-ROM if you can't install from it and
even te O?S don't recognize a 'de facto' device?
