Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Greetings fellow java/freebsd lovers :) My query is simple. How 'release-able' is the current 'port' of the JDK1.2.2? The reason for my question is that (triumph for FreeBSD) our Linux webserver box has been rooted and cannibalised. Usually I would take this kind of thing seriously, but (a) we have backups (b) it shows Linux for what it is and (c) my company may now take FreeBSD seriously, despite the fact that I administer our firewall (FreeBSD) and run it on my desktop with less problems than anyone else. We need to run our custom written Java software on it, and need to be able to run Servlets / JSP. Our systems are high end systems, and although it's probably not good to run them using a (what I guess you could call) beta JVM, but the software is already proven to be reliable in this case, and merely needs patching to fit our beloved operating system. If there are any dire issues that people are aware of aside from those fixed in the current patch set, please let me know so that I can be prepared when I have to write and chair a report for my employer. Many thanks, and WELL DONE the FreeBSD/Java porting team and contributers, your work is appreciated more than you know. Thanks again. -- Cliff Rowley Software Engineer Olive Systems LTD http://www.olive.co.uk To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message
