Your the man with the ORA book on porting but I will throw these ideas out there so I can understand things better. True FreeBSD Port: Software that has a "port kit" and installs on FreeBSD cleanly with absolutely no extra effort required by the user or FreeBSD, Inc. AnyOld FreeBSD Port: Software that has a "port kit" but the user or FreeBSD. Inc has to tinker to get it to work right or create the "port kit". "Works with" Port: Software that runs under emulation. Are these the distinctions that you are making?
