I think a better idea would be to dump over the network to another server. We do that at $(WORK) for diskless machines and it's quite effective. Currently what we have is very rough and only implemented on 6.1, but if I get some time this weekend I'll try to clean it up and provide a patch against HEAD. Ryan Stone
