Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm not sure why 4.4BSD does this. When mounting a MFS filesystem on a mount point with say 644 permission, the mount point changes to 1777. I have observed this with FreeBSD, BSD/OS and OpenBSD. Does anyone know why this is?
