Tell us which version of FreeBSD you are using. Also, plasease boot the machine with the `-v' option at the "Boot:" prompt and send us diagnostic messages shown during boot. You can obtain them by the `dmesg' command or by looking into the file /var/log/messages. You say you cannot login because the keyboard seems to be locked up. I believe the system is still alive and you can login to the system via network. Kazu
