Sense code 3 is MEDIUM ERROR. ASC=9 ASCQ=0 translate to TRACK FOLLOWING
ERROR. These are from a SCSI-2 standard draft I found from somewhere years
ago.

If you enable verbose SCSI error messages in the kernel configuration, the
kernel translates the codes for you.
