I don't know what happened.  The INDEX got corrupted and blew up the
Makefile.  The first line of INDEX looks like this:

I ran a "make describe" from the top of the ports tree but it didn't
give me anything strange.

I restarted the build, we'll see what happens.  Also, I put in a check
to see if all INDEX lines have 10 fields so it won't try to go build
stuff in that case.
