I just got done explaining that if you change the hostname of your NIS master, you need to rebuild your maps so that the YP_MASTER_NAME record in the map files can be updated. This applies to _all_ your maps. Do a 'yppoll passwd.byname'. If the master server name printed by yppoll is not 'toots,' then you must rebuild your maps. -Bill -- ============================================================================= -Bill Paul (212) 854-6020 | System Manager, Master of Unix-Fu Work: wpaul@ctr.columbia.edu | Center for Telecommunications Research Home: wpaul@skynet.ctr.columbia.edu | Columbia University, New York City ============================================================================= "If you're ever in trouble, go to the CTR.
