Hi, Use vidfont(1) to find the font you want to use. Here in western Europe that'll probabyl be ISO8859-1. Then set the font8x8, font14x8 and font16x8 variables in /etc/sysconfig to the font name that is output by vidfont. THis will usually be iso-font8x8, iso-font14x8 and iso-font16x8. Works great for me! Also, is your LANG variable correctly set? This can be done in /etc/profile. That way, vi talks German to me, and maybe it also speaks French!
