The default NNTP configuration supplied depends on Cnews. News configurations
supported in the FreeBSD ports collection are currently either Cnews (with or
without NNTP), or INN. I'm not sure why you get the patching problem, but if
you download and install the latest versions of /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.mk and
/usr/ports/news/nntp/ you should not encounter this problem.
