Well, I downloaded latest XFree86-4.2 and installed it. Everything went really smooth. X Windows fires up w/out any problems. But instead of fonts, I am getting STRIPES! I checked the FontPath, did 'unscaled', tried fixed fonts, rebuilt X, but so far, no way! It is failing to display fonts properly altogether (the same god damn stripes!). By the way, my xfs is running fine as well. So it is not a font server issue (IMHO). I also checked the fonts. They are all where they suppose to be .gz'ed, I didn't even touch them. Here is what I have: Video Card: ATI Rage Pro AGP 128 w/ 32 RAM CPU: Athlon T-Bird 1GHz RAM: 786 MB I really want my BSD to work properly. I sent out couple of messages to X guys but received no reply. HELP!!!!!!! Thanks to all.
