Actually of this turned out to be a problem with the INDEX file that I got from the build cluster. There were several directories left in Makefiles that shouldn't have been there and it was wrecking havoc on the 'make index' process. There are error messages but they are pretty hard to decipher. I've fixed the INDEX and created yet another set of packages that Jordan can use if he still has time to download and create an ISO. This one does have the qt dependencies and all of KDE2 on the first disc.
