I reinstalled the router with vanilla 9.2-RC4 and performed the same tests - the results were exactly the same. The problem persisted. 2. Then I applied the patch provided by Oleg and recompiled kernel. This indeed did *fix* the problem and now creating/destroying vlans does NOT cause the interface to flap at all. All the symptoms that I was experiencing seem to be gone. Thank you so very much Oleg and Dmitry! Appreciated. Jack, at this point I am wondering what your opinion on the patch is? Do you approve it for production use yourself or do you think it needs to reworked? Also any plans of incorporating this in -STABLE ?
