From gdb:
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

When I try to create a file and a user, it dumps core after
I enter the password for the 2nd time. It creates a 0-byte
password-file.

#0  0x2817c660 in crypt () from /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.2

..is what gdb says.
