Will SAMBA 4.6+ ever be able to provision a DC on FreeBSD? The last bit of information I am aware of on this issue is that there is some problem with name-spacing that impacts the special attributes used by Windows User Profiles. It is described as a 'difficult' problem to solve on FreeBSD. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12912 There is a patch provided at https://attachments.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=13391 which short-circuits the difficulty but apparently has possible security issues. Has anyone here applied this patch, built and successfully provisioned a DC using Samba-4.6+ on FreeBSD-11? -- *** e-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** Do NOT transmit sensitive data via e-Mail Do NOT open attachments nor follow links sent by e-Mail James B.
