Well, if -hackers can do it, I can too. We have several people who have submitted a lot of documentation, and are just getting into the docproj. That's cool. We have a document that could really, really use some help. The best time to document anything is when you first learn about it. Therefore, one of you folks might look at the FreeBSD Documentation Project Primer. The first few sections could really use a pass-over by someone who is new to both DocBook and the DocProj. If it can be misunderstood, it needs to be fixed. (I've said this before, and I'm going to say it again, and again, and again, until you killfile me: "the goal is not to write so you can be understood. The goal is to write so you cannot be misunderstood.") We'll be pretty anal about changes to this, as it's the source of our own processes. But it could really use doing. If you read the FDP, and you come across something that is less than 100% clear, or not entirely true, it should be pointed out. If we're going to clean up our documentation, this is *really* where we should start. Hopefully the Class of 2003 will have an easier time joining the docproj... ==ml -- Michael Lucas mwlucas@FreeBSD.org, mwlucas@BlackHelicopters.org my FreeBSD column: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/q/Big_Scary_Daemons http://www.blackhelicopters.org/~mwlucas/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
