I do the same thing since I don't necessarily want the 2nd CPU to start automatically when I'm debugging the kernel. But the "automatic startup" problem is specific to having the kernel attempt to do it early on in the boot process. unless something has changed, it should be OK to have something in /usr/local/etc/rc.d start the 2nd CPU. -- Steve Passe | powered by smp@csn.net | Symmetric MultiProcessor FreeBSD
