And from what ive been reading getting all 5 speakers working is almost impossible in Windows or FreeBSD. You can get 4 point sound working easy. 5.1 is considered to be Dolby Digital and getting XMMS or any other player working in 5.1 would be infringing on copyright laws. The company that owns Dolby(5.1) doesn't allow it. I don't really know how to explain it, but I hope this helps -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG] On Behalf Of Paul ' Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 11:25 AM To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Santa Cruz and 5.1.. Does anyone have any feedback on gaming and xmms type usage with the Santa Cruz and say a Klipsch 5.1 system on the recent 4.5 Release? does the center channel work? i'm mostly concerned about playback here, although feedback on recording would be a bonus as well.
