FDT handles the enumeration problem. FreeBSD's lack of a decent gpio, = pinctl, pinmux and other infrastructure are much bigger issues. At = least those are the real issues that I'm running into working on the = Atmel SoCs and bringing FDT to them. Hinted buses really have no place = in an FDT world. None. They are an ugly hack that were intended to be = a stop-gap until something better than hints came along.
