To be honest, in high school and college english I have always been taught to use two spaces at the end of any typed sentance, so I think its a set standard. I'm open to hearing any educated arguments on this though, not that it would make my life easier, but at least i'd have an argument to mr I-know-it-all teacher hehe... > > This is the first time anyone's ever objected to that practice in the > documentation I've submitted. Personally, I think raising hurdles > for those volunteering to write documentation is a bad idea. I think that the FDP Primer makes requirements for two spaces at the end of each period exept for the ending of paragraphs, which just have . As far as mdoc(7) is concerned I think that a person to ask would be ru@FreeBSD.org, he knows alot about the process. With this situation, I don't think of it as hurdles, but more of a set standard to make things easier for people. For one, I find it relativly native to use a space between every word and two spaces between sentances, maybe the reason is because of my learnings through the American education system, now the last thing I ever want to do is complain about the education system of another country, or the teachings of certain institutions, its just that we have always done it this way, and I feel strongly that this standard should be upheld. Please take this comment in the friendly and informative way of its intent, I hope that no offense has really been taken by anyone. > > -- > Mike Meyer http://www.mired.org/home/mwm/ > Independent WWW/Perforce/FreeBSD/Unix consultant, email for more information. > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message > Enjoy! -- Tom (Darklogik) Rhodes www.FreeBSD.org -The Power To Serve www.Pittgoth.com -Pittgoth Discussion Portal --=.kC'AN(?oE5m16y Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE8mBkTwPmgiRuevUMRAqzbAJ945bu4hHN7JTbRtDM7ErYkGjdX2QCgnIJG nb8WNCCnJyNXp+7UMHfO/aU= =hfU/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=.kC'AN(?oE5m16y-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
