This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Multipart=_Wed__28_Jan_2004_01_32_48_+0100_ZsAfl.Pg3TD_shhh Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I just read Eugenia's review of FreeBSD RELEASE-5.2 and noticed that it wasn't just me to complain about qmake dependency poping up all around for Gnome/GTK apps. I figured out that this seemed to be brought by gstreamer-plugins that automatically found aRts installed and got dependent on while it registers dependency on devel/qmake somehow (though it never got installed on my system). Then this dependency is being tracked by all apps that depend on gstreamer-plugins. I got aRts just because of maintaning polish/gnugadu2 and following its developement. And I don't use it myself at all in every day use. But you have no choice whether gst-plugins registers it unless you edit the port Makefile. Maybe we should add WITHOUT_ARTS to gstreamer-plugins to let people prevent it from grabbing aRts dependency by default even if installed. It has WITHOUT_OSS already. Patch attached. -- Piero piero@poprostu.pl --Multipart=_Wed__28_Jan_2004_01_32_48_+0100_ZsAfl.Pg3TD_shhh Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name="gst-plugins.patch" Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="gst-plugins.patch" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 LS0tIE1ha2VmaWxlLm9yaWcJV2VkIEphbiAyOCAwMDo1OTowNCAyMDA0CisrKyBNYWtlZmlsZQlX ZWQgSmFuIDI4IDAxOjIzOjM4IDIwMDQKQEAgLTEzMSw3ICsxMzEsNyBAQAogLmVuZGlmCiAKICMg YXJ0cwotLmlmIGV4aXN0cygke0xPQ0FMQkFTRX0vbGliL2xpYmFydHNjLnNvLjApCisuaWYgZXhp c3RzKCR7TE9DQUxCQVNFfS9saWIvbGliYXJ0c2Muc28uMCkgJiYgIWRlZmluZWQoV0lUSE9VVF9B UlRTKQogV0lUSF9BUlRTPXllcwogLmVuZGlmCiAKQEAgLTYzMiw5ICs2MzIsMTIgQEAKIAlAJHtF Q0hPX01TR30gJz09PT4nCiAJQCR7RUNIT19NU0d9ICc9PT0+IERlZmluZSBXSVRIX0FBTElCIHRv IGVuYWJsZSBhYWxpYiBWaWRlbyBwbHVnaW4nCiAuZW5kaWYKLS5pZm5kZWYoV0lUSF9BUlRTKQor LmlmZGVmKFdJVEhfQVJUUykKKwlAJHtFQ0hPX01TR30gJz09PT4nCisJQCR7RUNIT19NU0d9ICc9 PT0+IERlZmluZSBXSVRIT1VUX0FSVFMgdG8gZGlzYWJsZSBhUnRzIEF1ZGlvIHBsdWdpbicKKy5l bHNlCiAJQCR7RUNIT19NU0d9ICc9PT0+JwotCUAke0VDSE9fTVNHfSAnPT09PiBEZWZpbmUgV0lU SF9BUlRTIHRvIGVuYWJsZSBhcnRzIEF1ZGlvIHBsdWdpbicKKwlAJHtFQ0hPX01TR30gJz09PT4g RGVmaW5lIFdJVEhfQVJUUyB0byBlbmFibGUgYVJ0cyBBdWRpbyBwbHVnaW4nCiAuZW5kaWYKIC5p Zm5kZWYoV0lUSF9BVklGSUxFKQogCUAke0VDSE9fTVNHfSAnPT09PicK --Multipart=_Wed__28_Jan_2004_01_32_48_+0100_ZsAfl.Pg3TD_shhh--
