If you have extended translation turned on: #MB reported by probe/7 cylinders,
					    255 heads,
					    63 sectors/track

If you have extended translation disabled: #MB reported by probe cylinders,
					   64 heads,
					   32 sectors per track

Flip over to the debugging screen by hitting Alt-F2 and see what its
doing.

BTW, the 2940 driver in 2.0.5 is very green.  2.1 did it better, but
there has even been extensive work on that driver since 2.1 has been
released.
